  • In 2000, Powertech IST Otokon was a finalist in the eta Awards in a joint entry with AngloGold, for a dynamic electricity pricing response system that achieved a R7,62 million saving a year for the Vaal River gold mine. The system enables the Vaal River gold mine to move from Eskom’s NightSave kVA tariff system to the more cost-effective Real Time Pricing (RTP) tariff.
  • Powertech IST Otokon was a finalist in the eta 2001 Awards, for its Energy Monitoring and Control system at the University of Pretoria. Once again, the ecWIN technology was used with sophisticated control functionality added to the system.
